It has been a while since I made a purse for myself! I thought it was about time. I decided to make the Slouch Bag pattern from Paradiso Designs. This pattern used a new (to me) type of interfacing, Annie’s Soft N’ Stable. This is headliner material that you sew to your pattern pieces. While it was slightly harder to sew on, I love the way the purse came together. The interfacing is soft, yet supports the purse!
I used this lovely wool from Pendleton Wool. I made a skirt from this fabric and was happy to squeeze out enough fabric for a purse as well!
I love the shoulder straps, and how they attach to the purse. Cheryl has a great way of sewing leather straps, check out her tutorial!
I added a snap to the flap.
I changed the lining and created a variety of pockets.
I am very happy with my new purse!!
